Ben and I were riding around downtown PAP on his motorcycle when we came across this while we were making a turn. He turned his head towards me, and we both pretty much said, “Picture?” at the same time, so we stopped and started snapping shots.
And while whoever took this headless mannequin and put it in the rubble of this building was probably just kidding around and making a creepy joke, it does seem to symbolize how many victims there were in the earthquake who we will never know. Like I’ve posted before, crews continue to pull bodies out of the rubble daily, and for many of those people, they go unclaimed, becoming faceless victims of the earthquake. But if, by chance, this was done as some kind of artistic form of portraying that, to me it almost seems perfect.
